It's hard to tell from the large pic, but it looks like a cap ventilator. Breezie

i thought whistle thingy but you guys know which type?

BCH, my first thought was a hat ventilator, but after everyone said a Wheee whistle, I thought, yep, that is it. Crusader thought a helmet ventilator; same principle as my thoughts. So without seeing it in person, or some better comparison pics, I think it might be a stale mate right now. Breezie
