Hi and hope everyone had a great thanksgiving, my parents are searching for any information on these vases. They are around 8 inches tall each. They have some writing on bottom and a impressed mark which I cannot get a picture of. Trying to find out who the maker is and age. Thank you in advance. 871D2B7C-D28A-4BE1-B563-1F119415B7A2.jpeg8AD3F3DD-6DAE-4926-B4EF-5D29731C0429.jpeg

Those are, I believe, Satsuma-style export ware and are from the Taizan pottery in Kyoto. Originally a small family business, it was transformed into a large factory in 1872 by Taizan VIII using the company name of “Obi-ya” (the 'Obi' character can alternatively be read as ‘Tai’).

They became large exporters, principally to America, until the kiln closed c1894. There are reports that the kiln was still operating in 1895 and in 1901 but on a comparatively small scale, and there seems to have been some production as late as 1922 but not after that date.

The Taizan factory also decorated blanks produced by other potteries such as Kinkozan, Izumo Wakayama, etc. Where that’s the case, the Taizan marks are painted on the piece and the impressed mark is that of the pottery who produced the blank. It’s not possible to say whether your pieces fall into that category without seeing the impressed mark.
