I had about 1 hour to get out before a thunder storm hit. It still hasn't rained, but I'm not gonna sit in an open area, near the water, surrounded by metal play things with boomers above.
So I went to the neighborhood playground around the swing set.
Figured something would atleast be there.

In one hour I found these. Not much, but it's been the most productive day yet.

7 hours, covering 12 miles, on a beach yesterday and nothing.
5 minute drive to a playground and one hour swinging for these.

It ain't a playground for kids, adults too!!!!!!!!!!!12 miles in seven hours, can't swing my coil that FAST,don't want to either!

Let me rephrase. I clocked it with my truck on the road, which runs parallel to the beach, from where I started to where I turned around. Most of those miles were quick walking to get to the spot people say the best finds are. And the rest swinging my MD, not knowing what I was doing, sweating my rump off, moving too fast, getting mad, and getting covered in sand.
After adding it all up, I probably covered a 10 square foot area with my MD. :D
Thus, the reason I came home with very little yesterday.
I've got the, "Oooh, I'll go over there. Now over there. Now..." syndrome
I spent 12 years in the Marine Corps infantry. So sometimes I get into a walking mode and fail to stop or slow down. Ask my wife, she hates it.
I'm getting the hang of it though.

Hang in there Brother,ya ain't gotta find it all at once!!!!!!!!!Take your time, you ain't in the Corps now!Everybody says "the good spots"what about the spots people are not not looking in?Scout around a bit, look and see where people go,ya,some beaches have a lot of people, don't forget about the ones fewer people have gone to for a long time. The lake I'm diving is like that,Won't use my dredge right now untill I get a WRITTEN statement,"yes you can do this"from the State,DEP has no regs. for what I want to do,I still want the letter,I'm even gonna laminate it and stick it to the side of my dredge.Got any fresh water lakes near you?

LOL, I've never really believed the old, "Ya, go right there" directions to finding the best of anything. I did better today 'cuz I looked at the terrain and thought about where something would "hide". Worked out ok I guess.
We've got a couple freshwater lakes here. Some very old ones. Meaning used for a couple hundred years by trappers, hunters, fishermen. Most are on state parks now, so I'm not sure if you can detect on them.
