Plasti Dipped Garrett Pro Pointer

Nope. You do it once and will never have to do it again.

plastidip is very forgiving and can be peeled off if you want, change color etc. I use it on my aluminum digger handle to avoid the black staining of my hands

Yep, was going to use the kind in the can that you dip but they only had one color in stock at the local Lowes. Don't remember what that color was but I didn't want it so I figured I try the spray kind. It is pretty forgiving and you don't have to get perfect coats or anything. Stuff seems fairly durable. Just seems a sensible way to protect and prolong the life of an investment.

This item is available in many other bright colors on line

Maybe they will take after the TRX and make the housing replaceable. That is one of the reasons I got the trx.

If you went over the switch, would it make it waterproof?

okay, don't think anyone answered your question - I would ask the same question..., in fact, I wonder if the probe got
Plasti-Dipped up as far as the beginning of the threaded cap, would that (pretty much) "water-proof" the probe???

...of course the cap's seal is another issue, in getting the ol' Pro-Pointer water(proof)....!!!

I painted mine yellow and added several costs costs of clear coat a few months back to prevent me from losing it, which was totally worth it, but got to noticing how worn the tip is getting.
I was wondering if the plastidip worked well for you or just rubbed off?
If it doesn't last very long I might dip mine in epoxy to build it back up.
These things cost to much to wear out the casing in 6 months.
