Was working Picnic Island Beach in Tampa when I got one of those great target hits on my XLT. The depth read 2 inches, so I just pushed the sand aside with my foot. There, shining in the sun, was a large gold coin. For just a second, I was totally freaked, then I realized what I had found. It was a pirate coin, a 2004 Gasparilla Invasion Token.

Ye mystic krewe are participants in Tampa Fla's mock pirate invasion called Gasparilla. It is similar to mardi gras in that they throw beads and have parades.

Thanks for the info, it was the word krewe that set off a memory twitch. HH and at least I don't have to tell you to stay warm. May the real gold coins grace your coil.

This is for( SwingingmyXLT) I am going to FL in a couple weeks for two months, never been there for more than 24 hours. Back in 1981 I had to fly down and drive my mom& dad home the next day because dad was sick.

Really looking forward to this trip.
