✅ SOLVED Pinfire shotgun id

Found this today in hawaii, not sure of manufacturer identification. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, these are my first that I've found, does anyone know how rare they are? Could they possibly from the civil war, even though they were found in Hawaii?

Kentuck, as CC Hunter said in his post just abovee yours, "all cartridge/shell headstamps that carry a raised letter headstamp and contain the name Eley Bros or EB are from the period 1861 through 1874."

Does the one you found, marked E.B. No. 12 LONDON, have the marking in "raised" lettering? If so, CC Hunter told you the time-period of when it was made.

Thanks for the reply. No, it is 'imprinted' or in other words, the writing is all sunken into the shell, and not raised. I will try to post a picture if I can get my camera working. It might be from a later date than 1874 if the writing is not raised?

Thank you for returning to this discussion with the requested information. Yes, indented lettering on your pinfire shotgun cartridge's brass base indicates it was made sometime after 1874. A couple of well-focused closeup photos showing the lettering might lead to narrowing down its date of manufacture.
