I see what you think is a pine tree.

Hogge, IronPatch, and Don in SJ should be able to offer better insight.

I'm definitely no expert, but it looks too thick to be pine tree shilling. The edges also seem too "round". Pine tree shillings look really thin and flat with a sharp edge. That's my take, based solely on pictures I have seen of them.

sorta kinda looks like it maybe could be

idk what it could be, its thinner than a connec copper and its the same size.....ill post mor pics

i found this coin today, i thought it was a large flat button and just threw it in the pocket, got home and cleaned up my finds and with the naked eye you can def make out a pine tree shape, its a little on the thin side but the same size as a half penny. the 4th pic is reverse nothing to make out, pics are tuff.....what do you see?

sorry! can't make out any detail!..it's "cooked!"

(h.h.!)

Ma. Silver.......No. Pretty rough. Could be one of the tokens Bramble suggested. Does have the shape of the ULTRA RARE 1776 Ma. Pine Tree Copper. There is only 1 other example known. HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Does have age to it though. Lots of questions left on this one.

Such a killer to find something you think might be great and just not be able to tell what it is. I hope you're able to find out

Agreed, its most likely a halfpenny token.

I see something, don't know what. Try making a rubbing, using a nice new shiny piece of aluminum foil, it often brings out detail you can't see with the naked eye.

Nice Find either way. There were many reproductions made of the coin, just saying. Don't know if yours is on or not. Also still trying to find what the earliest reproduction date of the coin is. Can you give the weight and size of the coin. I am sure that will help everyone with their research.

I believe it may be the Massachusetts coin. It looks real close. BTW…It is unique. You may have a real winner here!

Massachusetts Unofficial Coppers

Nothing is known regarding the origin of the Pine Tree piece dated 1776. The obverse has a crude pine tree with “1d LM” at its base and the inscription MASSACHUSETTS STATE. The reverse has a figure probably intended to represent the Goddess of Liberty, seated on a globe and holding a liberty cap and staff. A dog sits at her feet. The legend LIBERTY AND VIRTUE surrounds the figure.

im no expert but it def looks just like the pine on the mass copper, same position on coin and rounded at the bottom.....its just too roached

Redneck noise, dude, that's all it is.
make about as much sense as you do.

Dutch it appeared as an insult, no one would know it wasn't unless you said something in post that showed it wasnt...

Geez....What happened here and where did this come from?? Seen the movie and know the line. What brought it on??

I restored post deleted of Dutch's.....It appeared initially it was insult, Dutch said it wasn't meant to be one...

The Mass Pine Tree is 32mm in diameter, for reference, probably a token as previously suggested, shame again, the corrosion on copper loves to make us all go blind figuring out what was found! :)
