Piedra River in SW Colorado

I've been doing some sampling in this river and found a few flakes. Does anyone know if it's ever produced any real gold?

Don't get me wrong, so far she has been an angel to deal with, and I respect her. She has a job to do and is limited in what she can say and do. I don't get the impression she is an extremist one way or the other, and I plan on meeting with her when I go up for my 4th of July vacation.
