Dig this up in a farm field adjacent to a house built in 1850 in Massachusetts. Appears to be possibly be copper, has some weight to it. Wasn’t sure if this was a lid or cover to some kind of makeup. The design looks like an eye? Haven’t found anything like this before, would appreciate any insight. Thanks! Part of an old drawer pull or something along that line, I would think.

If it had a hole in it I would say drawer pull type escutcheon plate. Since it doesn’t appear to have a hole I would think something else. I don’t see any way it would be attached.
