I had some vague anecdotal notion that February is a good month for crhing. So, I decided to compile my monthly results over the last 13 months. It was very enlightening to me.

The Morgan and the ASE were gifts from my mother-in-law but a direct result of my new hobby. Free silver

Huge CRH for loose halves

The 12-90% I purchased using money I got scrapping a bunch of useless metal around the house. Sounds kind of like CRHing

A nice CWR dump with a solid roll and a half roll.

A nice cwr dump(14-40%) and my best half box (29-40% and 1-Ben).

So, based on my limited experience, February is an awesome CRHing month.

I don't think there is any tax liability for having $132 of cash in the closet.

Plus, do you really think they monitor forums like T-net?

Some very nice results, esp finds from Feb the past two years. Strangely enough I had one of my best months ever, probably my best, in Feb. 2012. These are my Feb 2012 results I posted 2 years ago:

Dimes ($1,950 searched):
5 boxes: 3 Rosies
$700 cwr's: 3 Rosies

Halves (~ $12,525 searched):
...........................................22 boxes: 25 x 40%, 6 x 90% (1 WL, 4 BF, 1 JFK)
........................$420 loose mwr halves: 1 x 40%
~ $1,105 customer (loose & cwr) halves: 79 x 40%, 62 x 90% (1 WL, 29 BF, 32 JFK)

Total keepers February 2012: 6 Silver Rosies, 105 x 40% & 68 x 90% halves (2 WL, 33 BF, 33 JFK)

I had 2 great cwr scores in Feb 2012, one of which was a collection dump that had a lot of really nice condition Ben's and "64 Ken's in AU/UNC condition. Below are a couple of pics of a couple of the nicest Ben's I found from that collection dump 2 years ago. The lighting's a little uneven in the pics but both appear to have near full bell lines.

And strangely enough Im searching my best box of 2014 tonight which is a box I meant to p/u Friday 2-28 but my crhing funds got screwed up on Friday because I bought $1000 in cwr's which someone dumped at one of my other p/u banks. So I would of had a nice finish for Feb of this year too but Im just as happy have a nice start for March this year instead.

Still anecdotal...but this supports the notion of nice silver caches in the 1st quarter of the year. Those are good looking Franklins.

Nice post, awesome pics.

March seems to be the month when silver heats up for me. I look forward to hitting it hard over the next few weeks.

Nice finds!

With respect to Fifty's comment, no, I don't think the IRS monitors forums like Tnet -- directly. However, I don't think it's that much of a stretch to imagine the IRS eventually having access to the NSA's database of records. Should that happen, it also isn't that much of a stretch to imagine them analyzing the bejeezus out of anyone they audit.

in a word( yes ) they're in the business of control.

Sounds good...I hope we all rake it in in March!

I guess I was hoping my alias would keep them from identifying me easily. I realize the NSA could break into T-net, but I was thinking the IRS would have to subpoena that kind of info. Plus, I really thought our silver is only worth face value until after we sell it. Otherwise, it's just like putting cash under a mattress that we have already paid taxes on. I could be wrong though, lol.

You are correct. It is simply coinage until we sell it, at which point we will legally owe capital gains taxes on anything we sell them for over face. It would be nice if there were a way to call what we do a business, and write off the expenses we all incur, but as far as I have been able to determine we can't. The coins are simply coins, not inventory.

That being said, I have absolutely no confidence in our government (IRS, NSA, etc etc) to respect privacy laws, so I'm keeping the info I release to a minimum, alias or no.

Again, great finds. Not trying to hijack or take anything away from your thread!

I agree that our government can not be trusted, but I guess I shouldn't say that just in case they are listening...lol. Thanks for your comments and I enjoy your posts :). Happy hunting!

Forget all that talk about the government this or that, the true story here is that you found 3 Barber halves in only 13 months of CRH??
What are your monthly boxes ordered?

I've been CRH for 2 years , and only find 1 Barber so your avg is great!

For the record, I found 2 barbers with my first haul which was 16.6ozt of silver from CWR's that were loaded(it also had 4 walkers and 11 Bens). The third barber with 4 walkers and 7 bens was a scrapping deal. I scrapped an old air conditioner, law mower, random pipes, some track lighting, broken screen doors, garage door springs, etc. for the money that bought the 12-90%. 400 lbs of crap metal for 4 ozt of silver :). A bit more physical than my usual half box order.

My orders are a bit meager, I do 1-2 half boxes a week regularly. I have done four half boxes in a week once in a while like last week. I also have started to do 2-3 boxes of dimes (sometimes 5 boxes) per week.

After looking at my monthly totals , I felt a lot better about my efforts. All the skunks start making you feel like you are not doing very well, but I have been pulling over 4ozt a month on average which I know is modest compared to the more serious folk around here.

Good luck to both of us on finding our next Barbers.
