Joshuaream, yes it is a scapula hoe and among the biggest I have seen

I will try to get a better pic of it if you want
 

Larson1951, nice finds of items that would not have lasted forever.

Could the marks "Ms' " be from cutting meat off the bone? Just a thought.

I'm not familiar with a scapula hoe, but it is easy to see how it could be done. Pics please.

here is the 18 inch buffalo scapula hoe

Bravo, the marks are not from cut marks
if you look at other artifacts I have posted you will see these same M marks
one example are the bone sticks I posted earlier this spring
I put them back to the site because of their purpose
this flaking tool must have been special to someone
maybe an older women who made lots of points
