Yea... thats about as far as I got too... I'm suprised there are no other markings.

I can't find anything else amongst the myriad of acronyms which could make more sense.

My guess would be that "E.M." is a name and that "C.S." stands for "company store". Script was used to pay coal miners which could be used in the company store for supplies.
