🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Pewter Roman/ Corinthian Soldier

[Red River Campaign 1864]

Dug this item the other day and put it in my "trash bag" but got it home and noticed..... in better light.... it was a face of some sort! After a good cleaning it appears to be a head of a Roman Soldier! It's smashed together but looks like a loud or a top of something! If flattened out.... looks like about 2 1/2 inches round and about 2 inches from bottom to top! The Roman Soldier is about 3/4 inch tall! I think it's pewter by the grayish coloring
and it's somewhat heavy! All educated or uneducated guesses appreciated!

Soldiers garb didn't leave large hair poney-tails in the back of the helmets that I have seen. It looked to me on first glance like a Native American male head.

Maybe the photos are not clear.... it's a helmet with a nose guard and the "ponytail" is the dress feathers! Could be Corinthian design but I don't know enough about ancient military helmets! Thanks for the reply my friend!

My first thought was that it's either a Georgian Period cruet top or to something along those lines?

It reminds me of a Pontiac Indian radiator cap, maybe something similar? Not exactly the same. There were many different types over the years.
