I got back home late last night from VA and decided to get out today for a short hunt in the rain with my trusty old XP Deus HF Elliptical Coil. Sniffed out a few targets, but these were the most noteworthy. They were about 50' from each other, but both were deep squeakers and very satisfying to dig (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I'm not sure on the ID of either item. But I am certain that they are colonial and the swan is holed and has a silver wash with some very intricate details that probably won't show well on the pictures.

Congrats on the 2 unusual finds. Can’t wait till someone ID’s them.

Greetings Bharp and congratulations!

I believe the pewter piece is what's left of a votive amulet representing the "Tree Of Life". If you look it up in Bing images you'll see that it has been depicted in many motifs world wide for centuries.

To me, the styling of this representation is reminiscent of the style used in biblical illuminations in the medieval period, but I am certainly no expert. These are just my impressions!

Best wishes and good luck!
