Over the River and thru the Woods...
Detector(s) used
Team Tesoro
Another "whatsit" from the late 1700s homesite yesterday. Points on both ends but one side is shorter and thicker than the other. It's fairly heavy for it's size (almost exactly four inches) and very brittle. It's like it's deteriorating in fine layers and small chips. Possibly a piece to a candle holder? Any help is greatly appreciated...

Looks like a door stop to me with the rounded rubber tip missing from the left side. Just my opinion.

Don't know about doorstop or not but could there have been threads
on the ends that are now completely rusted away?

they wrapped pages from the sears & roebuck catalog around it
and hung it on the outhouse wall?

or fuseable link for a lightning rod?

Found something similar to this a few days ago, but this one I think is iron and dirt or a root grew around it. The metal is sticking out on either end, one end is pointy and the other end flat. LOL...I won't tell you what my Mother thinks it is, and if it really is that then I feel sorry for that poor dog! :tongue3:
