Spent the last two days poking around the beach here getting sandblasted from the storm. Not much here since Ivan wiped everything away. Found some history though. So far two 50 cal rounds with no bullets but primers intact and a piece of an airplane skin. All from the WW II era. Way cool! Not enough coinage here to buy the batteries though. Looking for other areas close by to detect.

I feel your pain about the lack of battery money...Our beach is about gone, with some 6'-8' drops where the beach used to be. Good news is no pulltabs either! ;D

Hi Terry

What is further down below the place where the sand was located? Is it rock or hard dirt?

Will the tides wash the sand back onto the beach eventually?

Thanks for sharing your insights of what happened after Ivan passed

Hope you find a nice new place to hunt

I have heard a lot of old finds can be made when those beaches get taken away! Good luck and HH, Mike
