Pentagram & Half-Crescent Moon ?

Hello,

I came across the object in the attached photographs a few years ago and have been unsuccessful in identifying it. I thought it might be from the Middle East, but I asked a person who works in Oman for his opinion and he did not recognize it. I have asked a few co-workers representing various ethnicities from around the world and have not had any luck.

The five small bowls rotate on the axis of the pentagram. The object shaped like a "spinning top laying on its side" rotates horizontally.

Thanks for your help in solving this mystery.

I'm going to put forth a vote that it is a centerpiece for a pagan alter, with the five cups for holding representations of the elements. (water, earth, air, fire, spirit). I've never personally seen a piece like that, but it seems very likely.

Not Masonic! Masonic symbols have moralistic or religious symbols that represent the goodness and virtues in life in spite of what some churches or non-masons might think. I are one! "2B1ask one"

My guess: The small cups could hold incense or candles.
