Do you have pics or at least a list of what you are preparing to send away to PCGS? Most coins although nice are not worth it by the time you pay for the membership, grading and shipping expenses. Coins only worth $100 or more are going to be beneficial.

Yeah I was just reading more about it, it seems very expensive but well worth it I suppose for very valuable coins. I have maybe a half dozen coins that I am curious about thier grade and value.

For that few coins I'd just submit them through a coin shop that provides this service.

So there are some shops that are affiliated with pcgs?

PCGS Authorized Dealers can submit your coins for you. Here's a listing for CT. Authorized Dealers

Great, thanks for your help!

Why don't you check out your local/area coin club. You are bound to have one somewhere near you. There are coin dealers that are members along with collectors. Call the current president of the club. Find out where they meet. Go and talk to them. I think there you will find satisfactory answers as to whether its worth the fees for grading your coins. If so you'll be able to find someone there that will be a member and help you out.

It's not worth buying into PCGS as a member to submit coins UNLESS you plan on sending 100s and even 1000s of coins per yr in for grading

you'll be disappointed in the end.

You didn't hear this from me but it's a well known fact in the coin dealers world that those who consistently and frequently line their pockets (PCGS's pockets) get preferential treatment (meaning - they get better grades assigned to their coins VS Joe blow that submits only a few coins per yr).
