Found this puzzling coin with "Mohammad Rasool Khoory & Sons Co." written in Arabic up top, and Paul Buhre in the middle.

Apparently, Paul Buhre is one of the first watch makers in Europe and his company was the official supplier of the Russian Imperial Court. The Rasool Khoory Co. is an old conglomerate that first introduced Rolex and other brands to the United Arab Emirates.

Anyway, the watch link is evident, but I have no idea why or how this strange coin came to be. I'm thinking it was some type of commemorative gift from one to the other.

That's very cool! What is it made from?
P.S. The hockey player Pavel Bure is actually descendant of Paul Buhré

Very different find...Nice:thumbsup:

I believe it's bronze. Thanks for the fun fact- this piece keeps unfolding little history lessons for me.

I searched Google and found...

"...The legend that narrates the story of ancestors and successors, the past and present, the future and the success. It is the limitless ambition, the continuous work to achieve the anticipated goals to provide the best and the most beautiful of the creators of the elegance at the finest and the most reputed international trademarks of watch and the jewelry makers where the name MOHAMMED RASOOL KHOORY & SONS...more..."

Nice find. Maybe they put a token in with the purchase of a new watch, for advertising purposes.

It looks like possibly something broke off of the top, like an eyelet perhaps? Maybe it was a watch fob?

Interesting find! :icon_thumleft:
