Not sure, it's only 1 1/2 inches tall and the metal plate is really thick.

Maybe from an early automobile headlamp or side lamp?

looks like it was from a dealer or repair shop in florissant

As thick as it is I’d have to guess that it’s a chunk of a lead bar, like the old soldering type.

It may be a plate of some sort off of an antique Autocar car or truck.

I thought it was some type of local insurance company keychain tag fob or something.
You can read AUTO and LI as in LIFE or it could be LIcense. Interesting.

I would think that except the name of the city is on it

It could be an Automobile License.

This one is listed as a carriage tag circa 1890's.

What are the odds that this one also says "FLOR...."?

That looks very familiar. I thinking a broken piece of a ford distributor, on the side where the cap snaps on. As part of the casting, it would say "Autolite". The FLOR is cast intot he body and next to it is an area that would have the remainder of the part number stamped into the body. Or it could be a tag that would have been riveted to the distributor body. I am not able to show a picture at this time - will try to post later with one. That's my input . . .JH
