have silver id on machine? Any tests?? Nice find, however.

yes, found it with my CTX 3030- showed silver

Not many other silver things shaped like that. I would call it a cut reale.

Too bad there are no markings. But these coins were legal tender in the US until the mid 19th C and continued in circulation well after.

Many of them were worn smooth.

There are some markings on it and you can see the pattern in the picture where it's turned to the side. It's almost as if the cut reale had be run over by a horse carriage and squashed. I have a few half reales that are lighter in weight than this. This is the first cut piece that I have dug
