Hi all. I ventured over from the garage sale and thrift store forums to ask a question - does this look like part of a multi-part porcelain insulator for power lines, or just a chip bowl or something else worthless? I’m wandering around the thrift store right now, and even though it is not priced very high, I don’t want to buy it if it is not worth anything to anyone. There are no markings that I can see, and the color and glaze on the bottom is damaged in such a way that it looks like this part attached to another part. Hopefully if someone is active on this forum, they can give me a quick response. I would sure appreciate it!

I seriously doubt that it is a power line insulator.
It looks more like a serving bowl of some sort... or at least part of one.

I agree with you. It was probably just wishful thinking on my part because it looks so similar to some parts of insulators I have found in the past, and the color is so unusual that I thought it might be worth some good money. Thank you for the reply.

I believe the term was "lazy susan" which had a small center bowl on a metal bracket. put the chips on the bottom and the dip on the top.

Thank you for the input. The scale doesn’t seem quite right for a bundt pan, but definitely similar in design. It spanned almost the width of my shopping cart and was quite shallow. I do appreciate all the opinions.

I ended up leaving it behind, although I did consider buying it to maybe repurpose as a bird bath or something like that. Thanks to all those who contributed. Happy hunting!

Definitely not an insulator... I know what it is... I remember a similar one from my grandmothers cabinets but I can't for the life of me conjure up a name for it now...
