Hi, I am new to this but saw your post.. I live on Panama City Beach, next to St Andrews state park, and since my husband and I bought a couple of metal detectors, the bounty hunters.. we are rookies at this, but figured start little and work up.. Whites is the best detector from all the researching I have done.. There was recently a police report of a ring lost right across the street from where we live, est. at 9,000.00.. so, of course we went looking.. Maybe our detectors are not strong enough to go that far down. The problem is, they rake the beaches here everyday with trucks, but I have found some pocket change, and during spring break, around the bars on the beach, and especially volleyball areas , I hear you can find a lot.. unfortunately, it is September, and everyone has gone home.. There are lots of munitions from WW11 that was blown up on the beach when there was a beach re nourishment.. you just never know what you may find here, and I will keep looking.. just wanted to say hello to a fellow panama city beach part time resident..

I have seen the fella over there on that beach combing it like a fine tooth comb,This was about 10 years ago. This was befor I even knew what a MD'er was.I asked him"you ever find much with that gismo"? He said "yep" and kept on truckin.I was like, he sure is an unsocial like feller!(not in those nice words, lol) So I was over there fishing off the peir, I seen him coming back our way.He reached up and turned it off and started coming down the peir where I was. He came up to me and said,You catch anything from here?" I said, yes a little. He said here ,I want to give you something.I guess the way I looked at him, he said i'm serious.I held my hand out,It was a silver quarter.I said thanks, but why are you giving it to me?.He said, I dont usally say anything to anyone when I'm Md'ing, but when you said "gismo' I knew you had no idea about Md'ing. He said I have been scanning these beaches for years,I have found alot of stuff here and everywhere else.I figured I would give you something to talk about. He said you have a good day and turned around and walked away.
Fast forward, I wish I would have started doing this along time ago.More fun to me than dragracing! Dang sure cheaper... ;D

I live on PCB - near Capt. Anderson's and occassionally scan the beaches at low tide and after a severe storm, I've never found anything worthwhile or worth bragging about :( . People generally look at me like I have 3 heads when they see me scanning the sand. My greatest find so far here in PCB has been a big bowl of seafood gumbo from Scampy's LOL.

I am now your official Whites Metal detector dealer in Panama City Beach - call me - come see me - we also have a club here :)
