That is an awesome blade, congrats, and thanks for sharing it,
Love you dog... very cool.
That is a nice knife but I don't see anything that screams Paleo. I have many similar blade knives that may have been made anywhere from Paleo up to Historic times. Can you please educate me as to why this one is Paleo? Thanks
Wow...that's a sweet piece! If yours is strongly associated with paleo sites I may need to have some of my similar pieces evaluated...
That's a great find indeed. Yes Dr. Goodyear would be one of the best to ID any S.C. artifact. I have talked with him and he has looked at some of my collection. He has educated my on things and I trust his evaluation highly. But like flinthunter brought up I think it would be difficult to determine it is paleo unless found in some type of context. I've seen them found and have found some that are at least very similar on camp sites that had no paleo. Not trying to be negative in any way just trying to learn.
Thanks Dardy- Yes finding them is what I like best too. I do my looking at and learning about when I can't get out to hunt'em. Thanks for posting . Love seeing other stuff from around the area so keep on posting them. Thanks SCrocks. Yes Dr Goodyear and Tommy Charles (before he retired) have educated me as well. We are blessed to have them in SC. We have found several paleo finds in the same general vacinity. Some obvious like clovis points and bases but some I wouldnt have recognized as paleo such as a small scraper I found. I also trust their opinions and rely on their expertise. I just like finding them!
