Was that clickbait, or what?!?
My wife and I had a blast at the Texas Treasure Show silver hunt (put on by the Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs) in Carthage, Texas, this morning. My two prize tokens I dug were both awarded with 1 oz. .999 bars, each. There were 20 or more detectors given away, and a bunch of pinpointers. At least 80 prize tokens and 5000 silver dimes were seeded. Probably about 100 participants. Just luck of the draw my tokens didn't hit on prize metal detectors. I was happy with a few silver bars and a load of coins to stack away.
Totals are 73 rosies, 19 mercs, 3 quarters, and 2 one ounce fine bars. That's 97 targets. In an hour. I know one guy (Totzke!!) claimed 127 dimes.
Had a lot of fun, but 3.5 hours drive each way was a little much! Sometimes it is held in Temple, Texas, which is much much closer to home!
