This morning I decided to test out my new 4 X 6 DD coil to see how well it performed. I headed over to a park that I had hunted before and had found quite a bit before. There was one part of the park that I hated to hunt because of all the trash, so I figured this was the area to put this coil to the test. Keep in mind that I had hunted this area before with my 9 1/2" coil, and digging all the trash nearly drove me crazy. To say the least, I was impressed with the performance of the new coil. It was picking out targets that I had totally missed before due to masking, or being too close to larger metal objects, such as metal pipes on playsets and reinforced concrete. In a little over an hour I had found a good bit of clad, a couple of pieces of junque jewelry, a skull and cross ear ring, and a ring that has some sort of writing on the inside and outside of the band. It's not a deep detecting coil, but it sure found the good targets among the trash. The next test will be the soccer fields where I don't dig the deep targets anyway so I don't mess up the fields. Now I'm off to a BBQ of venison and elk.

Yeah I wanted to buy one when the movies came out but they ranged from silly expensive to rediculous expensive. Not something I could buy. I do have a checker game at the house with silver and gold plastic rings. Pretty cool. Good finds.

Great finds and thats the coil I have been considering and it appears to be a winner.

When I first got it, I wasn't quite sure if I had made the right choice. Just playing around with it, I knew it didn't get a lot of depth, and it was smaller than I really wanted. But after this morning putting it to real use, I really like it. It performed way better than I had expected, and it pin points right on the nose. It really out performed the 9 1/2" in the trashy areas.

Grats on the finds PM
it sounds like your new coil is performing as advertised :)
Now you're armed for just about any conditions .

Keep swingin and keep us posted !

nice finds piggman ! cant wait to get my DD coil in the mail and try it out ;) congrats

Hey Dave, great finds. I'd love to have one of those rings too. Sounds like the 4X6 DD coil is working great...wonder if it will work on the M6. I have a $200 coupon coming from Whites and haven't decided what to use it for yet.

The 4 X 6 is one of several coils I have, and I use it pretty much exclusively in parks and trashy areas. Once you get used to it, you may be suprised how deep it will go!

The eclipse 4X6 shooter will work on the M6, I paid about $120 for mine new.

Piggman, nice bunch of finds. I especially like the Playboy bunny.

I love my 4X6 DD, but the only problem is the loss of depth. I did find a Barber dime at 5.5" though with it.

Keep up the great hunts!
