After a two day stint of field hopping a few good finds came my way. I Patch scored some really nice finds and so did Patriot, I was glad I wasn't left out of the fun. A decent variety of finds were found and we were fortunate enough to dig on some of the oldest sites our area had to offer.

Finds included some lead seals, coins, buttons ,and some relics.

I thought Iron Patch was the best of the bunch. It seems that you can find the goods also.
Chris

He has his days too! Near 10 years we've been doing this and if you broke it down hunt by hunt I'm sure it would be very close to 50-/50 for who got the best find of the day. He usually beats me on coins, and I think I used to to do better on the button count, but now with him changing to an explorer it's very close.

I can't believe the silver you guys have pulled up from your sites. Were they all found at military sites?, very impressive. I am definitely going to have to take a trip out that way some day......i'll supply the pizza and beer, you guys supply the detecting sites!.

James, guess we've known you a couple years now... pizza and beer, ok you're in. We said whoever got the best finds for day 2 would buy the pizza and "poor" Steve got himself on the hook.

One of the nicest Lead Seals I have seen :icon_thumright: Whats the letter next to the M, a C or S??

upon a closer look appears to be a C.

I used to have a Seal book but I can't find it :icon_scratch:
Sorry, what I meant is I can't find the book. It would have been a long shot anyway but it did have lots of types from all over Europe :)

Are you looking under the French section? :)

Our friend the Patriot has some listed in a book he has. I'd like to find a good reference for early French ones, have quite a few.

QUACK!! Love that seal, I cannot believe the silver and coppers and seals and other relics you all found yesterday, that is simply fantastic! Love all the finds posted by all three of you guys!

Don
