Way to go on a manila day! Beats mine all to h##. Today was one of my longest at 6 hours. Look around and you can find some good deals. You just have to hear about them at the right time. Way to go on another great day!

It may seem I hunt more but I am on the tail end of my first vacation also have one next month. I usually hunt during the week so that may be why it seems more. Not to much on weekends. Not sure there are to many colonials laying around in the city parks. I did run dates the parks were created...most 1940's have had layers of dirt added....foot traffic very heavy here...guess each area is different. The average home is up around 400 to 500,000...so not to many wooded areas...only forest preserves which are limited. Real estate is at a premium in a city of 2 million. But thank god there are so many parks...gives the bums...degenerates...and guys with metal detectors somewhere to go!

Thanks I saw/responded to your post...man not sure I could dig all that trash...but it has paid off for you in the past with all those rings! After 3-4 hours my head starts to ache...so 3 to 3 1/2 seems best for me...

That's my usuall day too, then my back or shoulder starts to get to me. Since I'm simi-retired I do it every day. I didn't realize the size I had marked off until I actually started to look at it. I knew then it was going to be a long day. Lucky it didn't get that hot today.

man greg, I bet you can can find, pinpoint, dig, and retrieve two targets in less time than it takes me to noise cancel my minelab. Kinda like one of those weird movies where one person is moving real slow and the other is moving so fast they are a blur. I hope you dig 15000 coins this year.

Thanks I think you have made a great point..what is the key to finding a lot of coins each hour...(not necessarily the old ones ). Pinpoint...dig...and move on....Usually takes less then a minute...sometimes seconds for surface finds.
