One of the owners sons caught wind of us metal detecting the property and convinced Mom we probably shouldn't be?
Anyway, for now Tuesday was our last week there.
It was a slow start not finding anything but trash and iron. We've already covered the entire property a couple times already and have been waiting for a good soaking rain.
The kid started the day with our first good find, 1913 barber dime.
We then moved over to the front yard that we've been staying out of for the most part. This is where our very first finds came from at this property, a 1864 IH and a 36 buffalo.
It wasn't long here and I got a 85-86 hit, flipped a plug and there laid a 40 Washington.
We searched the rest of the front yard not finding anything else. We moved back to where the kid got the barber and I started gridding this section. This use to be an old orchard in the past. It wasn't too long and I dug a 1880 IH, it was in pretty rough shape. I also dug a piece of pewter from an old piece of silverware.
While I was digging the IH and pewter the kid was busy himself finding an old silver ring.
Our only other decent find and our last old copper from here, I dig a toasted Matron head. Only fitting we get one more old copper from here and it's our last find here too.

Like that silver, specially that Barber..

Cool silvers, looks like it was a great place to hunt

It's fun while it lasts, right? Good last hunt on that site. Hope the next one is just as good to you.

stinks that someone had to but their nose in on your permission, at least ya left there with some great finds!

I'm sorry to hear of some owner child ruining an obvious awesome spot. That's a great way to end the hunt however. Good to see some old Indians and copper.

Steve

Sounds like you got the majority from that site which is good. Somebody's always jealous of what someone else is doing. Good job getting the finds from that site

Sorry to hear about the loss of permission, however, you and the boy did get quit a harvest out of the place. Very nice set of finds, congrats on that. You two will be back in the saddle in no time, I'm sure. GL&HH!

Nice saves, good luck with the remaining time.

Nice finds congrats to you both!

Sorry you lost access there, maybe a new better place will pop up.

We hit it pretty hard and feel we got most that was there for the taking. I plan of getting a pic of all the finds together from this property. I think my old copper total for here was 9 and that includes the 1794 Capped Liberty and the Connectict copper that was in such good shape.
Two Spainish Reale's were found here and my first ever big silver, not to mention all the flat buttons we pulled from here.
This was probably our best property we've ever hunted, our Bed and Breakfast and this property are to close to say which was better.

Love the silver:thumbsup: I've had that happen before only I never even got a chance to dig my signals:BangHead:
