Ornate Kandell & Marcus NY brooch & huge safety pin

Hello All! I went to an early 1900s site today and did some swinging for a few hours. This place was pretty trashy and lots of iron. I did manage a few finds. I found this huge safety pin, no idea what it would be used for. I also found this really cool brooch marked Kandell & Marcus NY. I found an exact match online and it stated that it was from the 1940s. This was originally a beautiful piece! I couldn't find much on the company, if anyone has any info that would be great. I found the piece whole but the front piece that held the stone fell off. It's interesting that there is a design behind that piece (would have never been seen). Thanks for looking & HH!
