Attached are 3 items I found on the Oregon coast. The pitted item is not fossil imprints-appear to be ground into the stone with a circular manner. There are also several ship marks-as if someone/thing pecked away at it with a tool of some sort. They are also not made by pebbles that ate away at the stone over time.
What do you think it is?
The other is sandstone-it has a clean slot-perfectly straight down the middle. A pencil fits in it perfectly from end to end. One question though-there is a small pit within the groove where the pencil fits. Looks as though something popped put of it. It's hard to show on the picture. Also note that there are 2 grooves on it. One on the top and another on the bottom.
The 3rd is also sandstone-the really weird shaped one. (next to the quarter). I assume it is a natural shaped stone?
Any help would be appreciated.
