Onslow Beach, NC Th'ing, GOLD RING (my first at beach) and coins

I earned about the same detecting per day in coins, BUT I finally found the elusive gold ring, an 14K wedding band...finally. I used the Minelab Sovereign GT with the S-12 Sunray coil and found it toward the last hour of detecting during our vacation, but I finally pulled it out and landed a keeper making it all worth while. I feel sorry for the person who lost it though. The GT is a dream machine at the beach, particularly with the S-12 coil. I balances wonderful and I am confident that if there was any gold under the coil, I would have found more. Bryan
