One thousandth coin today. 1964 penny.
Below is a pic of most of my bounty.
I guess this is a milestone. The mighty Deleon found all of the jewelry. Probably 850 of the coins, including the merc, wheats, and 3 foreign coins.

Hittin all the good areas Vern, great job!

Thanks everyone. The truth is, I try and hunt on average 3 times weekly, from 1 to 3 hours each time.

My goal in the beginning was 1200 coins in 13 months. So ahead of goal.

From what I have read, on this forum and Finds mall, there are guys finding over 4,000 coins a year. So my numbers are pretty miniscule. I think one guy had around 5600 in 12 months.
Now, that is a person who never sleeps.

I actually believe my numbers will decrease, (maybe), 'cause I have a plan to dig less, hunt more of the silver stuff, and more quarters and dimes.

I figure I have to dig a little deeper to find silver and wheats. So, thinking AM mode, and higher sensitivity. Perhaps I need to hear more chatter.

I wouldn't call this a plan, but these are random thoughts that I ponder on. I don't have the answers, but I do read a lot.

While I really like my new Red Racer, and plan to keep it for beach use and a change of pace. But make no mistake, the DeLeon rules. Example. I've been messing around with the Racer and two other machines for the past couple of months. No jewelry, less dimes and quarters. Hunted with DeLeon yesterday morning, nice piece of jewerly. The way the D locks onto the good stuff is amazing.

Pretty minuscule? NOT! You're on fire!

I think numbers in one respect, is all relative to who you know who metal detects. For instance, I have two brothers who MD. Their totals together this year would be around 40. No jewelry.
My poor brothers obviously are not smitten, like their middle brother.
Yeah! I guess I am on fire. Obsessed perhaps. I've spent all morning, with several quick breaks, working on my riding mower. However, my mind is always thinking about detecting or music.

Yeah buddy! Put some nean oil on those knees, you've earned it!

Thanks everyone.
Hey Stoofs, the small jar in the middle of the photo holds my 1958 to 1982 copper pennies, all cleaned and almost like new. Got this idea to separate and save from "yours truly ". (You)
