Obviously know what it is. Lefaucheux Pinfire Revolving Rifle circa mid 1800's. Just wanted to know if anyone could give more info on it. Have found some around the internet but this one has elaborate engravings on it and haven't found any others engraved like this.

Hope the picture is big enough. Didn't think to take any close-ups. Only stamping we can't make out is the serial number because that area is also engraved. Can make out a 3 but that's it. Anyone have another we can compare it to?

I believe the first revolver rifle was made by Colt and distributed to Union troops. They were quickly disgarded, with the users saying, they didn't know who was in the most danger, the one being shot at or the one doing the shooting. The cylinder was known to blow apart apon firing. What ever the case, the one you own in a beauty.

In NC you can open carry, but we also have a Law called (Going Armed to the terror of the Public) My LEO friends say pretty much if a person calls and says someone has a GUN, you can get Arrested or a Ticket (Depending on the Officer) and or my GUN confiscated. So everyone I know has a CCW so we're not bothered. They (LEO's) also state, if its not listed under the CCW Law, its Illeagle to carry. Also we cant even carry a Pocket Knife with a blade over 4in, off our property. :(

P.S. I love the PIC BIGC, reminds me of my wife! :laughing9: :laughing9:

I guess the laws are pretty complicated and different for each state. Its hard to say exactly whats legal. Its often up to the responding officer. In Florida we cannot open carry.
