Went to a place i know is steeped ib history. Decided to hit a spot i never have before. I know the other spots i had been to have had some old coins before so i started detected ignoring low tones and paying attention to those high tones. Low and behold the first signal i dug..........

Btw thanks for all the comments!! Could anyone tell me what they think the condition of this coin is/value (although i will never sell it)? Do you think i should send it out to get graded? Also, should it be left as is or is there a way to have it cleaned without depreciating its value?

Will someone please tell me how much his coin is worth and what exactly it is already. I got the Liberty Cap portion. And yes I know it's graded all crazy style, please just give me a range of what it may be worth so I can be more jealous than I already am for that AWESOME FIND.

Lmao, ok here is what i do know: its a 1794, head of 1794 liberty cap large cent. As far as value it can range from 140 all the way up to 3500 although i dont think its in quite that good condition :-)

That is too cool, after 14 yrs. or so, I still have not found a large cent! One of these days!

Very nice finds:thumbsup:

Awesome Big penny and an oldie for sure, my oldest one's an 1801 so far.:icon_thumright:

Anybody ideas on its grade/worth?

So i went to a place to have it looked at and called a supposed coin expert. Seems everyone wants it for cheap but wont tell me what its worth. The first place wanted to buy it for 75 and the 2nd person didnt want to see it unless i was willing to sell and was trying to offer 20 bucks. Unbelievable!!

That is just way to awesome,Love it!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Old American coins seem to be pretty elusive for me Congratulations on your find and may this just be the tip of the iceberg.
