Walked onto a well hit cellar hole not having lots of time. Walked over to the area where we've gotten Sapper & Miner Reg. Buttons. I cleaned this one off to be surprised that it was a 37 Reg. BUTTON. Little burnt but a keeper still.

Oh man that’s killer Pep. Nice job pal. I wish I could find more early military buttons.

I remember a couple of times when I turned my machine on, found a keeper and turned it right back off!

You just can't beat those one off delightful finds!

Congratulations!

Real nice old historic button... love the look !
Gary

Thank Gary

It's hard to get all the patina to stay on the buttons from this site, may the clay soil and the thousands of pees. :dontknow:

That seems to happen more times than not, get a real nice keeper and then nothing. I would of saved another hour or so if I had done that. :)

Yeah, that's basically my yesterday, nice find early on and then nothing but 200 or so digs of trash & foil afterwards....

Just a little toasty eh buddy, pass the butter will ya :laughing7: ... still a great find though!
Reminds me of the two WWII RCAF buttons I found last year... it still amazes me these buttons survived at all!

Dave

PS. I'm in Ottawa & Kingston on Thursday and Friday, maybe we can meet to pick up our new coils.

Over the years I've had many that the keepers are in the morning and evening, nothing except trash/iron all day. Still doing this :icon_scratch: all these years later.

I'll have the marriage of the machine and the HF coil all done early in the week. But meeting up could be an option-for a hunt?
See how the TO-DO-LIST goes for me and the weather

great find!

Thanks CD

I'm going back to hit the iron patch at this and a few other cellar holes with the 9" HF coil so I will be reading over your post ups about the settings for running it.
You're really a great help on the different set ups. Thank you, and all the best to you on your next outing.
