Dug this piece up this morning. The loop on the end makes me think it was part of a pendant. I can make out the words "worn by" and what appears to be king but I can't say for certain. There is a date of 1740.
I couldn’t see the writing. Is it on the inside?

Georgian era-but the king I will say that's stretch.
