Came from a town founded in the 1860's. Was in a horse pasture in the town that has never been built on. You can see a video of some of the other coins on my YouTube Channel.

Sweet find, congrats! :occasion14:

Id be happy to trade you my oldest coin from the 1550's for this anyway. WOW!!! PS - Mine is copper. lol

pm sent. Dont know the rules on blasting my channel in the open.
Very respectful of you. :headbang: Some of us do get sick of the fire & forget of the utubers & we like to think we are more than that. It's well within the rules to add links here & I personally think if you want to give people the choice, just add it below your signature block.

Amazing find. Congratulations!! As almost everyone has said, it's incredible that you've found multiple gold coins, I've only found 3 pieces of gold in the 10+ years I've been detecting and they were all rings!

Congrats on the dream find. Its actually refreshing (and unusual) to see a gold coin posted that has seen some circulation and wear. There must be something behind this. Silver coins were circulated until they were worn out. The gold coins we typically see posted are ones that didn't change hands often and therefore remain in pristine condition. Makes you wonder why this particular coin got more wear.

It is a banner find but no back story. You don't metal detect? Or just not for coins? Im a little puzzled

Thanks Crusader. I will do that. BTW I will be back home in London and Kent in September to visit my folks.
