old weight or part of anchor?

Found this item at the beach today. Any ideas of what it may be? An old weight perhaps?

It feels heavy and measures about 4 inches long and 1 3/4 inches across the widest part.

Second thought, Moe, you may be right. Most of the weight may be in the center. I guess a 10 lb. anchor could have legs of less than 1 lb.
