"A different type and pattern of eyelash marks appears frequently on swords from S.E. Asia. Dha is the Burmese word for "knife" similar term to daab or darb in Thai language for a single edge sword. The term dha is conventionally used to refer to a wide variety of knives and swords used by many people across Southeast Asia, especially present-day Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Yunnan, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam."

Here are examples of Eyelash markings on a dha sword made in Thailand.

The blade itself looks pretty clean, no signs of rusting or pitting, I'd like to see a closer pic of the handle and tang in more detail.

From what I can tell based on the amount of wear on the grip, your dha looks fairly new, likely having been made in the last 30 years. :icon_scratch:

garwoodboy, tried to email a friend, that had brought back
a few swords, from during the end of the Vietnam war.the email
bounced back, did a search, search term, 1960s era dha sword
found a link to some info, that linked to 2 wayback pgs
maybe this info will help date your sword
