Found this ornate Spur yesterday in a field. Not having much luck identifying. It is brass with the rowell and portion that mounted to boot strap rusted. Boot strap must have rusted away. Any ideas would be appreciated. Believe to be California style due to it had been a 2 piece construction. Texas and Mexico seem to be 1 piece.

Nice relic recovery! :occasion14:

What part of the world was this found in and how big is it?

Found just north of Kansas City. Minus the iron base portion and rowell points, it is 2 1/4" in length. 1" at the widest (up and down position), 5/8" side measurement.

I am pretty sure that is part of an early 1800's Spanish spur, but if it is, the rowel has been replaced.
