Had a good weekend on a field in Bavaria. Tried all last week to get my coil over something but it just didn’t happen, LOL. Did a water hunt early last week, it was cold even in a wet suit. Here’s the son of a beach that gave up .70 Euro cents and not much more, did find a key that was reported lost about a month ago, gave it to the guy in charge of the little park and lake. There is also a gold wedding ring in there somewhere I would like to find for the owner. I need to get a weight belt as the wet suit makes me too buoyant and is hard to dig.
The field finds. Lead whatsit far left, two clay marbles, two musket balls, a lead seal and a lead spindle whorl.
Another whatsit, an aluminum coin from 1921 and an interesting buckle.
A brass wedding band, may have been gold plated as it does have a stamp in the band however, I can not read it. A small copper religious pendant and two glass beads, left bead looks like it could be very old.
A nice silver ring missing the loop, I did look for the loop. The ring has the initials IHS with a cross on top and rays at the bottom, IHS are the initials of the Greek word for Christ adopted by the Roman Catholic religion.
Obverse of a copper coin, not sure of the date but I think it is early 1800s. Has the words “Bewahrt Von Leid Bleibt Allezeit” Means something like hard times are always sure to happen.
Reverse of the copper.
Quarter of a milled silver coin, probably broken in the field.
Reverse of the silver. HH, Mike
