Found this about 2 feet deep, in Jupiter Farms. Any idea how old it could be ?

I'd agree with Jeff. It appears to have an adjuster toward the top of the handle (the thicker portion), and Gillette's first adjustable safety razor was the model 195 "fat boy" introduced in 1958. It's very similar to this, but I'm not sure it's a match: The Gillette adjustable razors ? BruceOnShaving.com a blog by Bruce Everiss
If you want certainty you may have to clean the bottom of blade holder, and if it were ever possible to open it there are date code markings inside.
i remember playing with my fathers razor like this , i would unscrew and screw the top to watch it open and close ,, funny what fascinates a 6yr old mind ,,lol
Hey folks , look above you in the " unidentified bass object " and you'll see what I'm talking about cause it is a perfect example of the piece some posts above this one . I said it looked like one of the handle pieces from a double edged travel razor and in this picture you can see that the piece listed above is the center part of a Razor missing the bottom piece that opened the razor and the top . So I'm closing the books on that unidentified object posted above this . The picture helped ! So it's not a valve stem cover ... or a pen body ... it's a razor handle piece like I thought ! IMHO , Woodstock
