If you cleaned off the paint from the front of the safe it might be "mystery" solved...? :dontknow:

There's nothing inside the door. Nothing on the lock mechanism at all.
There's the lock mechanism itself. Can it be compared to other known mechanisms? :dontknow:

I believe mine is a diebold and looks similar. Is it a 3 or 4 # combo?

Bought this safe in an online auction. I have the combo but I can not find any information about it. Can anyone help me figure out who made this safe and how old it is... There's a number on the handle. 112282... It's 34" tall by 22" wide and deep. It was painted and looks bad and I will refinish it soon.
Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Mine is a 4 and I don't have the combo. :(
I've had it for about 20 years now. I used to help a friend that had a hauling business. "We haul anything for less". It came from the Cherry Creek area here in the Denver metro which is a richy rich type hood and they said there was nothing in it and they didn't have the combo. They paid to have it hauled away and I saved it. I've tried to find someone to open it and gave up. On the fence as to having it drilled.
Mine has its original paint and oil painting on the front. They'd have to drill through the oil painting. It will probably still be in my garage when I die.
I sure wish I could use it, let alone see what IS inside. My luck, there's one little piece of paper in there with the combo written on it.

It may cost a few bucks, but a locksmith that specializes in safes & vaults should be able to open it.

Under that steel panel it’s filled with concrete, mine was loose.
