No name plate any where ?

I need to find a gentle paint stripper to try this.
There are strippers that work on different paints better than others.
Do a test area first.
The outside stencilling could be really nice.

I had a few antique safes at my company, and have one in the shop still.

I'm thinking it might be from the first quarter of the 20th century. I guess now you could paint it anyway you want and nice you got the combo to use it.

Maybe an idea here: Using a common household cleaner like baking soda to remove paint from metal may raise the question, will vinegar remove paint from metal? Yes, it will. In fact, you can substitute vinegar for baking soda and achieve similar results.

have you tried removing the inside metal door panel ?

they may have some kind of identification with the locking mechanism , imo ( at who they sold the locking mechanism to varies safe manufacturer(s) , probably was nt many )

There's nothing inside the door. Nothing on the lock mechanism at all.

from the start searching i have done on duckduckgo

looks similar to mosler , spector , schwab , or a vector

as i am looking for detail(s) , such as ;

- the hinge(s) ( looks like little acorn(s) attaching the door to the safe )

- inside design of the door , looking like step(s) molding inside the housing or casing of the safe

- caster(s) of the wheel(s) ( design of how the wheel(s) are attached )

- inside painted design ( maybe simple , but the design transfers to other designs )

- the locking mechanism ( simple )

- even the dail n handle ( dail goes up to a 100 and how serial number is slapped across the like a rainbow somewhat )

just some of the things i look for at looking things up

anyone can add to the list in case i over looked anything
