Howdy Folks. I've been out hunting but, no old coins of late. I got the two copper "tags" on a sidewalk tear out. Also about 100 rusty nails and zero coins. Found the Beckwith's Round Oak Stove Company Nickel Plated Brass emblem today down the road at my farmhouse renovation spot. P.D. Beckwith founded the Round Oak Stove Company in 1871 and it went under in 1946. I believe the emblem may have been from before P.D. Beckwith's death in 1889. I also got a heavy deep green patina brass valve and a cute little brass buckle. I think I got a tiny solar panel thingy too. I dug a really nice horseshoe from the neighbor's yard yesterday but, no picture.:sad7: Thanks for stopping by. Kurios1

CONGRATS ON THE SNAKE FIND,. ,KINDA WONDER WHAT THE VDI SHOWED> MAN YOU GOT SOME NEAT FINDS AND THE BUCKLE IS NEAT. BUT THE BECKWORTH IS INTERESTING.

some days are just relic days, I figure they are to keep us humble but you still found some very cool relics. I love the coins and jewelry like most everybody else but I also love the old relics that give us a glimpse of the past. That is where the cool factor can really kick in. I like seeing what some may call common old stuff but for that stuff to still be identifiable, it had been made to work and last for a long time. What are we leaving the future detectorist to find? :occasion14:

Nice variety of finds. The snake looks like a Milk snake.

Looks like a Rattleheadedcoppermocciasan to me. Surely deadly. Where there's that much "stuff" there's bound to be some coins. Good luck.

Some nice finds there, even the snake. :hello2:

Nice relics! It's the journey.....................Enjoy it!

Loving the snake pic!

Yes indeed! It's ALL part of this great therapy we enjoy so much. Getting out in nature and experiencing things most folks take for granted. The little water snake was looking for a warm bungalow I think as the nights are getting cooler here in northern Illinois. He was nice enough to pose for a few pictures though. Glad you liked them.:hello:

I am not certain of it's technical name. I have always just referred to them as water snakes as they love the water. This little guy was quite a ways off from the nearest water. Probably looking for a place to bunk down as the colder weather is coming.:icon_thumright:

Great hunt, I like saving those brass valves to make coat racks:) Of coarse I have enough to make a couple but I keep finding things like metal detecting to keep me busy!

Nice bunch of finds.
Cool buckle

A nice assortment of relics. Those pesky nails are a favorite of mine lately...ugh..Congrats !!

I was like" is that a snake?" And so it was! Nice relics you saved, love the brass buckle and brass tap.
