I know this is an old razor but I would love to accurately date it and find out a little about it.
Engraved on it back side is "Kempre Bros New York pat. Apld. For"
On the front is "S C S"
Found digging at an old Tavern site.
Good note on the Stoll connection. I found reference to (but no pictures) of a 1914 Stoll with SCS on the grille. And info that SCS stands for Star Cru-Steel (from only one source so far, so?)
Updated: apparently the SCS is the suggested blades to use in the razor.
Also found references that (Richard) Kampfe likely made the Hero razor for Clark, as it has the same design and patent date noted on it.
And that the Cru, noted above, is short for crucible.
