OLD railroad luggage tag..L & N R.R. LOCAL....

I found this at a very old homestead today. I had no idea what it was until I got home and cleaned it off. I'm having a VERY tough time trying to figure out how old it is!!!?!? I've went to several different sites and NONE of them have anything listed on this. Maybe one of you can help me!! The tag is brass and says L & N R.R. LOCAL has the number L11617 at the bottom. It also has what I believe to be a star at the top....first time I've found one of these and I'm pretty excited....

Can you make out a maker's mark anywhere? By either of the loops?

Check this page. Very helpful:

As far as I know, the kind you have with the two loops is more rare than the one-loop design.

Here are two tags I recently found. Both are late-1800s, early 1900s.

Good luck researching!

Cheers,
Brendan

I can't tell what it says at the top because it is torn a little, how old do you think my tag is?

Congrats on a find I would love to make. I'm a collector of L&N RR stuff. The L&N ran through my parent's neck of the woods and I remember those L&N train loads of coal coming out of the hills and hollers of southeast KY.

Hard to tell, but my guess would be 1880s-early 1900s. Great find!

Cheers and HH,
