Looks like a Dutch oven to me. Pewter? Aluminum? If you find the lid I will be even more impressed. Nice find.

Um that would be called a Caldron... Or Kettle sometimes called...
But is a caldron...
Nice find.

If it's as old as it looks , it might have been used to melt lead for bullets. 8 " is rather small to cook in. Great find !

Nice info, BUT when I saw it I knew it was:

Just (a) Johnny Pot

Interesting dig!

I was pretty sure it fell off the old Spanish ship the Santa Monica as it was at dock by the pier. That's my story and i stock in to it! [emoji1]

I was hoping for a different kind of pot. Regardless if it was more valuable, it sure would of eased your aches from throwing a scoop around all day.

Cool find!

Sent from a empty soda can!

I found some old pot in fort pierce fl once in the sand dunes. In a bag

Whew!!! Thought he found my stash.

That's a very interesting find, Johnny:thumbsup:

I'd love to find something like that; maybe you'll find the lid another time
