I found this cool old pancake style padlock at a 1900 permission home...from what I've seen looks like it dates to mid to late 1800's. Been awesome if I'd found the key.

That's real nice Hunter, Where the heck's the keyhole?

Very cool lock, congratulations! :icon_thumleft:

What a great find !

The keyhole is on the bottom. I was looking all over for it too when I found it. :icon_scratch:

What really helped me in picking my 1800's lock was to find a picture from an old catalog. I contacted a lock museum, and they sent me the image. The image shows you what your key should look like.

Good luck!

I like finding old locks and that’s a beauty. Congrats

Nice find on the old lock. Cool!

That's a great piece very old.

Very cool lock, congrats on the nice save.:icon_thumleft:

Sweet! I wonder if a key could be made for it based on the image you found.

Internals might not work anyway, but would be fun to have a usable lock of this age if they did!

I searched Google and found...

"...The former Eagle Lock Co. of Terryville, CT was formed in 1854 - went out-of-business in June, 1975 - Lori Corp. of Southington, CT purchased some of the machinery at auction and continued to make a few of the old Eagle products even after they were acquired by Kaba Ilco Corp. in 1978..."

Thanks for all the research VPNAVY!!!!!
